Projects Overview
Continental Precious Minerals Inc. has 72 mineral exploration licences throughout the country. Thirteen licences are for conventional hard rock uranium deposits and prospects and 59 cover multi-mineral sediment deposits and prospects hosted in alum shale formations. The company’s current focus is the advancement of its Viken licence, located near the town of Östersund in central Sweden.
Sweden is a politically stable country with an established history of mining. It hosts several world-class mines including Kiruna, the world’s largest underground iron-ore mine and Aitik, an open pit copper mine with proven and probable reserves of 240 million tonnes. Sweden has a developed infrastructure and few restrictions on foreign mining companies.
